St. Louis-based workers' compensation insurer Safety National Casualty Corp. said it has named Gerald Scott chief operations officer and Duane Hercules chief financial officer and executive vice president of business development.
A spokeswoman said these are new positions in the company.
"Jerry and Duane have been invaluable team members at Safety National for more than 23 years," said Terrence Schoeninger, president and chief executive officer. "These promotions are an integral step in our senior management succession plans, ensuring the future of Safety National."
Mr. Scott joined Safety National in 1983 as assistant vice president of claims. He recently served as executive vice president of claims. As COO he will oversee the claims department and take on additional management of the legal and human resources departments.
Mr. Hercules joined Safety National in 1984 as an accounting manager. He served as executive vice president of finance. In his new positions, he concentrates on acquisitions and business development, in addition to overseeing and managing all financial matters.
Safety National Casualty Corp., a subsidiary of Delphi Financial Group Inc., provides excess workers' compensation coverage to self-insured employers and self-insured groups in both the United States and Canada.
