Itasca, Ill.-based Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. said it has acquired Charlotte, N.C., insurance agency Carpenter, Cammack & Associates Inc. Terms of the deal were not released.

Founded in 1992, Carpenter, Cammack & Associates (CCA) is a full-service insurance agency offering commercial property-casualty and risk management insurance services to its clients in the southeastern United States. The firm also specializes in insurance products for the construction, manufacturing, wholesale, petroleum and aviation industries.

According to the company's Web site, including founders Thomas S. Carpenter and J. Chris Cammack, the company employs 32 sales and support associates. It reported writing $40 million in premium in 2004.

Gallagher said CCA will continue to operate from its offices in Charlotte, Raleigh, Greensboro and Fayetteville, N.C., under the direction of David L. Marcus, Southeast regional manager of Gallagher's Brokerage Services Retail Division.
