The Professional Insurance Agents of Washington/Alaska said Rich Biggs was elected president during the group's annual conference and trade show in Spokane, Wash.
Mr. Biggs is a principal at Biggs Insurance Agency, Vancouver, Wash. He was elected to a one-year term.
The association also announced the election of the following to one-year terms:
o Mark Balcos, owner of Balcos Insurance in Seattle, was named president-elect.
o David Babbitt, owner of Babbitt Insurance Group in Enumclaw, Wash., was named vice president.
o Barbara Kaiser, principal of Sunset Insurance Agency in Olympia, Wash., was named treasurer.
o Scott Campbell, owner of Insurance Services Group in Edmonds, Wash., was name national director.
o Jack McCalmant, an owner of Big Bend Insurance in Davenport, Wash., was named representative to the PIA Western Alliance.
o Heidi Duncan-Yonker, vice president of Duncan & Associates Insurance Brokers in Olympia, Wash., was named immediate past president. She also received the association's American Association of Managing General Agencies and Chairwoman Of The Year awards.
The association also gave awards to several individuals for their service.
o Dick Fournier, the retired owner of the Fournier Group, an insurance agency with branches in Washington and Oregon, was named Agent Of The Year.
o Bill Norman, senior vice president of agency distribution for Seattle-based Safeco, was named 2006 PIA Washington/Alaska Company Person Of The Year.
o Anna Reid, a customer service representative of Bratrud Middleton Insurance, Tacoma, Wash., was named CSR Of The Year.
