Hyland Software announced the release of version 6.4 of its OnBase enterprise content management (ECM) software suite. The updated version provides users with new ways of leveraging the user experience of the Microsoft Office System to interact with OnBase transactional content and process management solutions.

The new capabilities include Archive Services for Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 and a packaged adaptor for Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006. Version 6.4 of the OnBase Document Composition for Microsoft Office Word module has been enhanced to support automated document composition and generation for high-volume processes such as insurance claims processing and policy renewals.

These capabilities build upon an extensive list of ways carriers can utilize their Microsoft investments to leverage OnBase transactional content and process management solutions. These include packaged Web Parts for Microsoft Office SharePoint Server portals, E-mail Archive for Microsoft Exchange Server, as well as integrations for Microsoft Dynamics, Microsoft Office Outlook, and Microsoft Office InfoPath.

"Utilizing our distinct but complementary solutions, content users can leverage their preferred Microsoft experience to find the content they need to drive quicker, better decisions at the front line, enhance customer service, reduce cycle times, and minimize the opportunity for error," says Kyle Blair, practice leader for insurance solutions at Hyland. "Hyland and Microsoft can take advantage of the distinct but complementary product strengths to help our mutual customers openly pursue a true enterprisewide content management strategy."
