Pete Lackner, owner of Rose City Associates of Portland, Ore., was elected president of the Professional Insurance Agents of Oregon/Idaho during its 40th annual convention, the group said.

He will serve in the post for one year.

The association also announced that Gary Steffen, vice president of Safe and Sound Insurance and Amigo Aseguranzas of Oregon City and Portland, was elected president-elect.

Chris Huwalt, branch manger of Western States Insurance of McMinnville, Ore., was named vice president.

Glenda Lile, former owner of Prineville Insurance Agency in Prineville, Ore., was name treasurer.

Peter Ball, owner of Corvallis Insurance Services in Corvallis, Ore., was named secretary.

Terry Adams, former president of PIA National and owner of Terry Adams & Associates in Portland, Ore., was named national director.

John Desmarteau, member/owner Beaver State Insurance Agency in Salem, Ore., is now past-president.
