The Arizona Captive Insurance Association (AzCIA) said it elected five new board members at its annual membership meeting.
Elected were William Bartlett, Bartlett Actuarial Group, Ltd.; Joel Chansky, Milliman Inc.; Lee Filener, Marsh Inc.; and William Powell, Salt River Project. Sheldon Epstein, Moss Adams LLP, was elected to a second term.
The following officers will serve the association's board of directors during 2007-08: President–Michael R. Mead, Sonora Captive Management, LLC; Vice President–Ann W. Wick, AIG Insurance Management Services Inc.; Treasurer–Christopher S. Murray, Caitlin-Morgan Insurance Services; and Secretary–Thomas R. Bond, Marshall, Dennehey, Warner, Coleman & Goggin.
AzCIA said its 2007 annual conference was attended by nearly 175 captive industry professionals who met with the Arizona Department of Insurance. Also, more than 50 captive insurance company representatives attended to learn about the Arizona captive industry and its current initiatives.
Arizona's Department of Insurance Captive Administrator Rod Morris said the DOI would work jointly with the association to ensure that Arizona is known throughout the industry as a “Captive Advocate.”
