Reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter & Company LLC said Charlie Fry has been named global chief operating officer.
The company said Mr. Fry's appointment becomes effective June 4. He will be based in London and be responsible for developing, implementing and driving the firm's global strategic operational initiatives as he oversees the firm's client support services, information technologies and human resources groups.
Mr. Fry, 35, comes to Guy Carpenter from Travelex, where he was director of business development and operations. He was responsible for improving the structure and effectiveness of Travelex's global operations, including processing and support functions. In addition, he oversaw all merger and acquisition activity and new business ventures, Guy Carpenter said.
Prior to joining Travelex, Mr. Fry spent six years at Benfield Group in London, where he held several senior management positions. Before joining Benfield, he worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers, focusing on clients in the insurance sector.
