The Reinsurance Association of America said it has elected James H. Veghte as the organization's new chairman.
Mr. Veghte is president and chief executive officer of XL Re America Inc.
Also elected Friday to serve with Mr. Veghte are Vice Chair John Rathgeber, president and chief executive officer, Arch Reinsurance Company, and Secretary-Treasurer Edward J. Stanco, president and chief executive officer, Folksamerica Reinsurance Group.
Other executive committee members elected for the 2007-2008 administrative year include: Jacques Bonneau, Ace Tempest Re USA; Joseph Brandon, General Reinsurance Company; Scott Moore, Partner Reinsurance Company; Michael Morrill, Axis Reinsurance Company; John Phelan, Munich Reinsurance America Company; and Pierre Ozendo, Swiss Reinsurance America Corporation.
