Ochenkowski Named RIMS President

Janice Ochenkowski was named president of the Risk and Insurance Management Society Inc. at the group's annual conference held in New Orleans.

She will begin her one-year term on Sept. 1.

Ms. Ochenkowski is a managing director at Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated, a real estate and financial services firm headquartered in Chicago.

She succeeds Michael Liebowitz, who will serve as past-president. He is director of insurance and risk management for New York University.

Both are members of the board of directors.

RIMS also announced the election of eight new members to its board of directors. The new members will serve a 16-month term also beginning Sept. 1

The members are:

o W. Michael McDonald, director of risk management for Quality Distribution Inc.

o Wayne Salen, director of risk management for Labor Finders International Inc.

o Nowell Seaman, manager of risk management and insurance services for the University of Saskatchewan.

o Carolyn Snow, director, insurance risk management for Humana Inc.

o Beaumont Vance, senior enterprise risk manager for Sun Microsystems Inc.

o Joseph A. Restoule, senior risk consultant for NOVA Chemicals Corp.

o Scott B. Clark, risk and benefits officer for Miami-Dade County Public Schools. He will also serve as treasurer.

o Deborah M. Luthi, director of risk management services for the University of California. She will also serve as secretary.

Re-elected to the board for the 2007-2008 term were:

o Janet Barnes, risk manager, Snohomish County PUD No.1.

o Terry Fleming, director, division of risk management for Montgomery County, Md.

o Jackie Hair, corporate director, risk management, Ingram Micro Inc.

o John Hughes, director of risk management for Alex Lee Inc.

o Daniel Kugler, assistant treasurer, risk management for Snap-On Inc.

o John Phelps, director of risk management for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida Inc.
