A Connecticut consulting firm is inviting companies to participate in a study it is conducting that it describes as the first national survey of midsized employers' workers' compensation cost control practices.
WorkersCompKit.com of Mansfield, Conn., said all U.S. employers with 500 to 5,000 employees are eligible to take the online survey of their practices in 11 areas, such as post-injury procedures, safety, communication, medical-cost containment, return to work and fraud control.
Based on their answers, the firm said, participants will receive a numerical score from 1 to 100 and their ranking within all companies taking the survey. Survey registration is available by e-mailing Survey@WorkersCompKit.com.
The company said its 2007 Workers Compensation Best Practices Survey will be conducted until June 30, and results will be analyzed and announced this summer.
WorkersCompKit.com said the survey has 87 questions and takes about 45 minutes to complete. Participants' answers and scores will be kept confidential.
“There's a great need for data in the workers' compensation cost-control arena, and this survey will provide the first good systemic benchmarks,” said Rebecca Shafer, developer of WorkersCompKit.com, the on-line workers' comp consulting service.
Companies interested in sponsoring the survey can contact Info@WorkersCompKit.com.
