Canton, Mass.-based OneBeacon Insurance Group and Hagerty Insurance Agency and Hagerty Classic Marine Insurance Agency announced a partnership today to provide coverage for collector cars and boats.
The companies said that under the agreement Hagerty, headquartered in Traverse City, Mich., will offer its customers access to OneBeacon's products and services. No financial arrangements were released.
Hagerty, it was noted, has been providing a network of specialized services for collector car and wooden boat enthusiasts for nearly 25 years. OneBeacon offers a range of personal insurance products and serves niche customer groups with tailored products and services.
Alex Archimedes, senior vice president of OneBeacon Personal Lines, said Hagerty has an “expertise and passion for this business, which aligns well with our focus on serving those markets we know best.”
McKeel Hagerty, chief executive officer of Hagerty, said: “In support of our long-term growth strategy, we chose to move our book of business to a OneBeacon company, dedicated exclusively to the Hagerty collector auto and marine programs. Structurally this move will enable our two organizations to offer additional specialized products and services designed for the unique needs of collectors–needs that are not always best satisfied with standard market solutions.”
Through the alliance, the companies said Hagerty will continue its emphasis on providing world-class, tailored coverages for collectible automobiles and wooden boats.
The ownership of both Hagerty agencies will remain unchanged and privately owned. Hagerty Insurance Agency and Hagerty Classic Marine Insurance Agency will be immediately appointed to represent OneBeacon to its customers.
