Insurance broker Integro said the fledgling firm is moving onto the international scene and announced it has formed an international insurance and reinsurance business unit based in London.

The New York-based company also said that Julian Samengo-Turner and Ron Whyte, formerly with Guy Carpenter's global facultative reinsurance business unit, have joined its organization and will lead the new unit.

Additionally, Integro announced that Marcus Hopkins, previously head of Guy Carpenter's United Kingdom facultative reinsurance operation, would join its United Kingdom board.

The new group will offer worldwide insurance and reinsurance business capabilities for independent brokers and partners.

Roger Egan, Integro's chief executive officer, said in a statement that this move is another demonstration of the firm's intention to develop insurance and reinsurance alternatives to what is currently available in the marketplace.

“We will do this by establishing an Integro presence in the major market centers throughout the world, and by enhancing our existing presence in London, Bermuda and Stockholm,” he said.

Integro, established two years ago in May, concentrates on the insurance and risk management needs of large and complex risks.

The new unit will report to Peter Garvey, Integro president and chief operating officer, as does the firm's existing London and Bermuda operations.
