The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America said it will host a panel discussion in Washington with representatives from legislative, regulatory, consumer and industry sectors.

The panel discussion and town meeting on April 27 will be held as part of the Alexandria, Va.-based association's Legislative Conference and Convention in Washington. The panel will be moderated by IIABA Chief Executive Officer Bob Rusbuldt.

Scheduled to join Mr. Rusbuldt are J. Robert Hunter, director of insurance, Consumer Federation of America; Rep. Earl Pomeroy, D-N.D., a former insurance commissioner; Roger Sevigny, New Hampshire's insurance commissioner and vice president of the NAIC; Alex Soto, independent agent and president of the IIABA; and Tom Van Berkel, chairman, president and CEO of The Main Street America Group based in Jacksonville, Fla.
