The International Association of Special Investigation Units said it is seeking nominees for its 2007 awards program.
The awards recognize individuals who are “significantly impacting” the insurance fraud fight, IASIU Awards Committee Chairman Jim Hulett noted in a message to members.
Mr. Hulett added that recognizing those individuals and communicating their results is a key element in allowing the organization to publicize its accomplishments, celebrate its industry successes and share knowledge on fraud fighting techniques.
The four titled categories of awards are: Investigator of the Year, Public Service, Outstanding Service and Analyst of the Year. The deadline for nominations is July 13. There is a $1,000 prize for the first category and $500 for the others.
Mr. Hulett's e-mail said that the Investigator of the Year Award has been enhanced to include consideration for, in addition to individual investigations, a body of investigative work from a single investigator that has occurred during the award period.
The purpose of this enhancement, it was explained, is to consider investigators who consistently demonstrate high-level investigative competencies on cases such as, but not limited to, single car arson, property thefts and nonorganized-activity type losses.
Mr. Hulett noted that the IASIU Web site, www.iasiu.org, contains a link to an awards section, with an award nomination form and write-ups concerning the accomplishments of previous award winners. Persons with questions can reach Mr. Hulett at (813) 880-2601.
Nominees can include employees of IASIU members, IASIU chapter members, industry peers and others.
