Alfonso Martinez-Fonts Jr., Homeland Security assistant secretary for the private sector, is scheduled to address the 2007 EQECAT Inc. Catastrophe Management Conference in Miami Beach, Fla.
Mr. Martinez-Fonts will address such topics as business continuity planning, risk management and the role of the private sector in pandemic preparedness.
His talk is scheduled for 9 a.m., March 27 at the Miami Beach Resort and Spa.
Oakland, Calif.-based EQECAT is a risk modeling firm. Its 2007 Catastrophe Management Conference will run through Wednesday.
Other topics to be discussed will include correlations of evolving hurricane activity and the impact on the insurance industry, alternative risk finance vehicles for the insurance industry, a variety of risk models and other topics.
