The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America announced that House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., will address its membership during the group's April legislative conference in Washington.

IIABA said Mr. Hoyer will be a featured speaker at a breakfast April 26 along with House Minority Whip Roy Blunt, R-Mo.

The meeting is scheduled for April 25-27 at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel.

Rep. Hoyer, now in his 14th term in the House of Representatives, is the longest-serving House member from southern Maryland in history. Prior to being elected majority leader, Mr. Hoyer served two terms as Democratic whip.

The conference, IIABA said, will include an in-depth issues briefing session, the annual IIABA congressional reception on Capitol Hill, numerous speakers and an industry trade show.
