Arthur J. Gallagher has combined its divergent captive programs under one roof, officially launching Artex Risk Solution Inc. next week, an executive for the Itasca, Ill.-based insurance broker said.
Phillip C. Giles, vice president for Artex, explained that the company has combined its captive placement and rent-a-captive programs into one company to allow agents and its clients to do business with a single entity. The move will enhance information sharing and reporting capabilities, and will utilize additional resources within the firm.
Artex will also have more marketing leverage, he said, with the clout of a single organization.
The move will unify Arthur J. Gallagher Ltd. (Bermuda); Innovative Risk Services (a workers' compensation managing general agent with offices in the United States and Bermuda); Gallagher Captive Services; Scholastic & Municipal Risk Services; and AJG's captive management units in Bermuda, Grand Cayman, Hawaii and Vermont.
The new unit will have 50 captives under management and $300 million in captive premium, Mr. Giles noted.
Artex will be led by David J. McManus as president. Officially formed on Jan 1, it will see its industry launch on Feb. 19, said Mr. Giles.
