Two Marsh & McLennan subsidiaries announced appointments at its reinsurance brokerage and risk consulting firm. The company's human consulting firm also named a new president within one of its divisions.

MMC reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter said Chi Hum, 50, was named to the newly created role of global head of distribution for insurance-linked securities in its Investment Banking Specialty Practice, a division of MMC Securities Corp.

Mr. Hum will be responsible for broadening and strengthening the firm's capital markets investor contacts and for the placement of securities and derivatives with investors. He will also assist in the placement of collateralized reinsurance transactions with capital market investors, MMC said.

He joins the firm from Swiss Re Capital Markets.

MMC's risk and consulting firm, Kroll, said William Keevan, James Check and David Hess have joined the firm's forensic accounting and litigation consulting practice.

Mr. Keevan, 60, has been appointed senior managing director at Kroll. He previously served as a senior managing director at Navigant Consulting and led the firm's government contractor services practice.

Mr. Check, 42, and Mr. Hess, 43, were named managing directors at Kroll. They also come to Kroll from Navigant Consulting.

Robert A. Yungk, 50, was named president and global head of Mercer Health & Benefits, part of Mercer Human Resource Consulting.

Mr. Yungk will join the company at the end of February. He succeeds Bernard Morency, who retired in 2006 after more than 30 years of service with Mercer.

Mr. Yungk joins Mercer from Tenet Healthcare Corporation.
