The Malvern, Pa.-based Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter Society announced it has added three new courses for its April 18-21 Leadership Summit in Orlando, Fla.

CPCU said the all-inclusive leadership and career development event for all of its volunteer leaders will be held at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort and Golf Club.

The meeting agenda includes a board of governors' meeting, chapter leader conference that incorporates specialized training, task force, standing and section committee meetings, according to CPCU.

The groups discuss past activities, plan for upcoming events, and strengthen chapter leader skills through customized training, CPCU said.

Also featured at the meeting are CPCU Society National Leadership Institute courses, which will be held April 19-20. The courses, which are open to nonmembers, aim to help insurance professionals advance their career track, stay competitive and face industry challenges, CPCU said.

The three new courses are as follows:

o Volunteer leader best practices: leadership characteristics and choices.

o Building communication strategies: leverage your best critical thinking.

o Strategic brand thinking–for the entrepreneurial insurance professional.

Other course offerings include creative thinking in business; climbing the corporate ladder: strategies to move ahead during tough times; successful negotiations for insurance professionals; strategic thinking and planning; building highly effective teams; and turbo charge your career: high-octane tips to fuel r?sum? and interview success.

CPCU said these courses, and others, are offered yearlong at both regional and local chapter levels, as well as at national meetings.

The group said the NLI courses will also be offered prior to the CPCU Society's 63rd Annual Meeting and Seminars, Sept. 8-11, in Honolulu. Information on both events is available online at www.cpcusociety.org, or by calling the Society's Member Resource Center at (800) 932-2728, option 4.
