A one-day training session to help insurers, law enforcement and equipment owners better combat heavy equipment theft, will be held next month in Miami, the National Equipment Register announced.
NER said the session was being held with the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association (FBI-LEEDA).
The NER said the Dec. 7 summit meeting would provide timely information to assist participants in dealing with and better understanding the problem of heavy equipment theft and recovery.
A general session will discuss the equipment theft problem, recovery challenges and solutions. Break-out classes will provide law enforcement with instruction in equipment identification techniques, including indoor hands-on equipment identification training.
Classes for equipment owners will discuss theft prevention and how to increase the chances of recovering stolen equipment. The latest in equipment security technologies will be demonstrated throughout the day.
NER said, during breaks and lunch, equipment owners, law enforcement and insurers will have an opportunity to discuss issues of common interest and ways to support each other's efforts.
There is no cost for law enforcement, equipment owners and NER member insurers. The event is being held at Carlos Albizu University, 2173 NW 99th Ave., Miami.
Registration is available through NER by calling (866) 663-7872 or sending an e-mail to info@NERusa.com. Dec. 1. is the registrations cut-off date.
