A legislative and regulatory update and briefings on multistate risk handling and errors and omissions will be on the agenda next month at the Professional Insurance Wholesalers Association of New York State Inc. conference.

The Glenmont, N.Y.-based surplus lines group said the 2006 Annual Convention Nov. 1-2 will be held at the Marriott Financial Center in New York City.

Gary Hollederer, president of PIWA, said the convention besides offering discussions and education on topics affecting the excess and surplus lines industry will present a "group of industry veterans to share solutions to common problems, which can be implemented to maintain stable business operations even as markets change."

The luncheon keynote address Nov. 2 will be given by Kevin Brooks, president, Argonaut Specialty.

Participants can attend three programs, which have been approved for New York continuing education, applicable to BR, C3, PC and PA licenses, PIWA said.

A conference registration form is available on the Web at http://www.piwa.org/promo_annualconvention_06.pdf. More information about the event can be found at 800 424-4244, or via e-mail at conferences@piaonline.org.
