The Strategic Independent Agents Alliance said Don Nottingham and Associates of Silver Springs, Fla., has become the group's 2,000th member agency.
Nottingham and Associates joins the North Florida Agents Network Master Agency network in Tallahassee, Fla.
SIAA is an international independent insurance agency network, according to its Web site. It operates in 48 states and Canada, and counts more that $4.1 billion in premium volume among more than 1,900 independent agencies.
Mr. Nottingham has been in the insurance business since 1974, opening his own office in 1978 after retiring from the National Football League after eight seasons as a running back with the Baltimore Colts and Miami Dolphins.
