The Captive Insurance Council of the District of Columbia (CIC-DC) said its September conference will hear Washington Deputy Mayor Stanley Jackson outline the city's upcoming economic development, technology and tourism initiatives.

CIC-DC's Fifth Annual Conference and luncheon is Sept. 25-26 at the Marriott Metro Center in Washington, D.C. The group said availability of its room block ends Sept. 5.

Conference planned highlights include:

o D.C. Insurance Commissioner Tom Hampton, discussing the District's plan for growth as a captive domicile.

o Updates on new captive legislation that is expected to be passed in the District.

o Information on creative uses for protected cell captives.

o An expert panel discussion of the latest developments in response to the Government Accountability Office report on risk retention groups.
