The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America said Michael Podoshen has joined the association's online education program, Virtual University, as its 50th expert.

Mr. Podoshen is a former assistant vice president of personal lines and corporate risk manager for Jersey City, N.J.-based Insurance Services Office Inc.

The Alexandria, Va.-based association said Mr. Podoshen brings extensive expertise surrounding insurance service offices, as well as loss control and risk management, to the Virtual University.

He joins the University's “Ask-An-Expert” panel, which answers association members' questions about topics related to insurance, business or technology.

The association said the Virtual University's research library includes sample forms, coverage analyses, Best Practices information and software guides. It also offers more than 40 desktop computer skills courses to agents and brokers.
