Bermuda-based Aspen Insurance Holdings Limited announced the appointment today of Stuart Sinclair, 53, as the company's president and chief operating officer.
Mr. Sinclair, who is expected to join the company's board of directors, fills a vacancy created June 1 when Sarah Davies moved from the COO post to the position of director of research and development and business change.
Most recently Mr. Sinclair was president and chief executive officer of GE Capital's Greater China, GE Financial Services unit. Prior to his Greater China post Mr. Sinclair served as president and UK CEO of GE Consumer Finance.
Aspen said Mr. Sinclair will be based in London and responsible for the company's internal performance and efficiency. He will report to Aspen CEO Chris O'Kane.
The appointment, Aspen said, will further operations management as the company diversifies its portfolio.
Aspen Insurance Holdings Limited, a Bermuda holding company that provides property and casualty reinsurance, was established in June 2002. For the second quarter, the company reported net income of $101.8 million and $500.1 million in net premiums written.
