AMS Acquires Tech Firm

AMS Services, a provider of software solutions for the insurance industry, announced the acquisition today of BCF Technology Inc., a privately-held insurance software and services provider based in North Carolina.

Prior to the acquisition, BCF Technology and AMS Services had a multiyear partnership involving collaboration on the technology within AMS product lines, said Bothell, Wash.-based AMS.

The company added that the acquisition strengthens AMS Services' ability to provide connectivity solutions to agents and carriers.

AMS declined to give any details of the deal, which was made final July 7.

BCF Technology's suite of insurance industry solutions allows carriers and agents to conduct real-time transactions across both new and existing technology platforms.

The technology permits broad carrier-agent connectivity, noted AMS. BCF Technology initiatives have ranged from developing custom, single-carrier solutions to standards-based, multicarrier solutions that can be extended across the entire industry.
