Patni, Clear Technology Form Alliance

Patni Computer Systems, Ltd., an information technology services provider, announced yesterday that it has formed a strategic alliance with Clear Technology Inc., a software solutions company serving the insurance, financial services and health care industries.

Financial details were not revealed, but Patni said that under the terms of the agreement it will provide worldwide process consulting and system integration services for Clear Technology's insurance and financial services solutions.

The company said its alliance is in effect at insurance and financial services companies in the United States, UK and Asia Pacific regions.

Patni said its knowledge of leading technology platforms will enable shorter implementation cycles and time-to-benefit for Clear Technology's insurance and financial services customers.

Clear Technology, Patni said, provides software solutions allowing insurance and financial services companies to cut operating costs while delivering increases in productivity.

Bill Budde, senior vice president and head of Patni's insurance business unit, said the two allied firms are united by a common goal--"to improve the efficiency and fundamentally reduce administrative costs for insurance and financial services companies."

Ray Wee, chief technology officer at Clear Technology, said the two firms have a "synergistic alliance" that will provide customers with financial and operational benefits.
