United Kingdom broker Jardine Lloyd Thompson said it is moving ahead with technology improvements intended to make it easier for clients to access the insurance markets there.
The broker said it has completed its own technology testing that will allow insurance and reinsurance quotations to be requested and distributed electronically. The information will be extracted from JLT's internal systems, processed through the underwriter's Gateway, validated and then loaded into the underwriter's back office system.
Richard Borgonon, chairman of Business Reform for the JLT Group, said by the end of July, JLT will have implemented it's own Gateway system allowing integration with any ongoing, or future, ACORD standard electronic market initiatives.
Sue Langley, chief operating officer of Hiscox and G6 chairwoman, said, “The work being done by JLT and others within Lloyd's is a critical part of the drive to streamline and improve Lloyd's market processes.”
G6 is a group of managing agents whose mission is to modernize the Lloyds market.
Aon Corp. in London announced earlier in the week that it had made similar advancements.
