The Captive Insurance Council of the District of Columbia Inc. said it will meet June 29 in New York City at the Brown Brothers Harriman Conference Center, 140 Broadway.

Advance registration is required by June 22, the association said.

Featured speaker Thomas Hampton, commissioner for the Department of Insurance, Securities and Banking for the District of Columbia, will discuss captive insurance legislation and opportunities in the District.

The seminar, according to CIC-DC, will offer the basics about captive insurance and its viability for businesses. A case study of a successful captive operation will be included in the program.
