The Insurance Institute of America granted its 25,000th designation in Associate in Risk Management to Vicki Knudson, a claim specialist for JMB Insurance in Chicago.
The Insurance Institute of America, with the technical and financial assistance of the Risk and Insurance Management Society Inc., created the ARM designation in 1965.
The ARM designation program consists of three college-level courses and tests that teach students how to assess risk, implement and monitor risk control measures, and how to finance risk.
"I see my work from a different point of view now," said Ms Knudson in a statement. "The ARM program helps me look at claims more holistically and also gave me a broader perspective of the industry in general."
