Chicago-based insurance broker Aon announced it has opened a new corporate investigative services group which will be part of the organization's Financial Advisory and Litigation Consulting Services practice.

The firm said Robert W. Huff has joined Aon Consulting as a managing director and global leader of this new group, and Daniel R. Sullivan has joined as a senior director.

Aon said the new group will assist organizations worldwide with their most complex corporate investigations, while ensuring they adhere to regulatory standards.

The group will work with law firms, corporations, governmental entities and not-for-profit organizations to manage and mitigate risk involving a broad array of issues, including due diligence, embezzlement, kickbacks, intellectual property theft, commercial bribery, check fraud, sexual harassment allegations and workplace violence.

Aon said members of the team include former federal and state law enforcement agents, former attorneys, investigative researchers and threat management professionals.

Both Mr. Huff and Mr. Sullivan joined Aon from Kroll, an investigative subsidiary of Marsh & McLennan Companies.
