The National Underwriter Company in Erlanger, Ky.–a unit of Highline Media, corporate parent of this publication–has acquired the assets of The Conference Group, Ltd. Terms were not announced.
The Conference Group is a leading insurance industry executive-level conference organizer, with meetings that include the 18th Annual Executive Conference for the Property-Casualty Insurance Industry and the 17th Annual Executive Conference for the Life Insurance Industry.
The Conference Group will become part of NUCO's Insurance Conference Division, headed by James M. Keefe III, NUCO's senior vice president and managing director.
Deborah Slott–founder of the conferences and their organizer since their inception–joins NUCO's conference team as director of executive events.

Mr. Goodenough added that the company is “committed to expanding our conference programs, and these events fit perfectly into our model for a highly successful series of senior-level events.”
“These conferences have stood the test of time in bringing together the insurance industry's senior executives and thought leaders,” he added. “We welcome Deborah Slott and her team to Highline, and look forward to working with her to perpetuate the fine events she has built.”
He noted, “In the years to come, we will also be adding other events to round out a comprehensive slate of executive-level conferences for the insurance and financial services industries,” adding that Ms. Slott is expected to take an active role in creating these new events.

Ms. Slott will continue to work from her New York City offices.
