Business futurist Edie Weiner and the election of officers and board directors will highlight the annual business meeting of the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of New York, Inc.
Ms. Weiner, president of futurist consulting group Weiner, Edrich & Brown, Inc.
Sharon Emek, a managing director of CBS coverage group in Manhattan, N.Y., is expected to be elected and installed as IIABNY's 2006-2007 chairwoman of the board.
Ms. Weiner's address and Ms. Emek's election will be featured during an association luncheon to be held on Friday in New York City.
The day will also feature a panel discussion to be moderated by Ms. Weiner with the president-elect of the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America, three insurance executives and an insurance consultant discussing such topics as technology, globalization and property-casualty insurance
Alex Soto, president-elect of the IIABA and president of Miami-based InSource, will speak on "Driving Forces-A Look Ahead."
Other panelists will include Frederick H. Eppinger, president and chief executive officer of the Hanover Insurance Group; Stephen W. Lilienthal, chairman and CEO of CNA Insurance; Thomas F. Motamed, vice chairman and chief operating officer of The Chubb Corporation; and Stephen Anderson, president, Anderson Network, Inc., a consulting and insurance information technology firm.
