Aon United Kingdom said it is selling its Aon Claims Management unit to Capita Insurance Services and plans to outsource its Client Operations division, affecting a total of more than 700 employees.
Terms of the sale were not released.
A spokesman for Aon said Claims Management handled third-party claims for clients outside of Aon.
London-based Capita Group Plc is a provider of integrated professional service solutions. Its subsidiary, Capita Insurance Services, provides a range of support services throughout the insurance industry.
The 103 employees of Aon Claims Management will be transferred to Capita. In a statement, Capita said the employees would continue to work from their current locations.
Aon's Client Operations division handles claims services on behalf of wholesale and specialty clients.
A spokesman said that division's 600 employees, based primarily in the firm's Romford, England office, would be transferred with an outsource agreement.
Aon UK did not reveal who it is in talks with, saying only that it is in discussion with several parties. The outsourcing would not affect retail clients or U.S. operations, the spokesman said. He said the company hopes to complete an agreement some time in the second quarter of this year.
