The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America said Sen. Mark Pryor, D-Ark., is scheduled to speak to its membership during the group's National Legislative Conference & Convention in Washington.

Sen. Pryor is due to talk at an April 27 breakfast.

IIABA said the conference and convention will run April 26-28 at the Grand Hyatt Washington and the Washington Convention Center.

"Senator Pryor is a rising star in the Senate because he is pragmatic and works with his colleagues across the aisle to get things done for his state and the entire country," said Robert A. Rusbuldt, IIABA's chief executive officer.

Sen. Pryor is a member of the Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee.

"Since Senator Pryor is respected by both Democrats and Republicans, he is in a great position to advance bipartisan, common-sense reforms on issues our members are very interested in. Our members are eager to hear his thoughts on issues that affect their businesses and livelihoods, including tax reform, insurance regulatory modernization, and other insurance, economic and national issues."
