Karen A. Horvath, formerly vice president of ratings development for A.M. Best Company, has been named vice president, external financial communications for W. R. Berkley Corporation.
The Greenwich, Conn.-based insurance organization said the position is newly created and that Ms. Horvath's principal duties will relate to communications between the company and its investors, analysts and rating agencies.
According to today's announcement, she has held positions in the property-casualty insurance industry for more than 16 years.
W. R. Berkley Corporation, an insurance holding company, is among the largest commercial lines writers in the United States. It operates in five segments of the property-casualty insurance business: specialty insurance, regional property-casualty insurance, alternative markets, reinsurance and international.
