Statistics covering verdicts over the last decade reveal that 59 percent of the plaintiff awards in product liability cases involving transportation products exceed $1 million, according to a recent study by Jury Verdict Research. In addition, plaintiffs received an overall product liability median award of $1 million, with the odds of receiving a favorable verdict at 46 percent.
The study analyzed three product liability categories including industrial, construction, commercial, and farm product liability; transportation product liability; and consumer and medical product liability.
