The Defence Academy of the United Kingdom, housed at Cranfield University in Shrivenham, England, has scheduled its 16th International Disaster Management Course for July 18 through Aug. 5. The aim of the course is to support the building of disaster management capacities at all levels within departments, agencies, organizations, and communities, improving their abilities to respond to any challenges likely to cause disruption.
The course provides practical and theoretical training in disaster management, covering topics such as policies, strategies, and models of disaster management; natural disasters; man-made disasters; complex emergencies; mitigation, preparedness, and response; and recovery and reconstruction.
