ACORD will hold a forum in October to explore issues surrounding the London market reform movement.
The event will take place Oct. 19 and 20 in Gibson Hall in London.
ACORD is a global insurance standard-setting organization based in Pearl River, N.Y., with an office in London, as well. It is taking a major role in implementing reforms that will streamline London market operations in the areas of claims, accounting, and settlement and contract certainty.
ACORD spokesperson Kevin Haydon said the event will offer participants the opportunity to find out about new approaches and efficiencies in different areas of the reform project.
"This will be an important opportunity to support implementation of the reform efforts in London currently underway," he said.
The two-day event will feature speeches by ACORD President Gregory Maciag and keynote speaker Nick Prettejohn, chief executive officer of Lloyd's. There will also be panels on regulatory challenges posed by the Financial Services Authority in Great Britain and the Sarbanes-Oxley law in the United States, along with one highlighting the differing viewpoints of cedents and reinsurers.
