Michael L. Browne, president and chief executive officer of Harleysville Insurance, has been named Company Executive of the Year by the Professional Insurance Agents of New York State.
Mr. Browne will receive the award on Jan. 19 during the 12th annual Metropolitan Regional Awareness Program, at the New York Marriott Brooklyn.
The award is given to an executive who has demonstrates qualities that foster a strong working relationship with agents and brokers, and who best exemplifies a commitment to professionalism and service.
Mr. Browne was named CEO of Harleysville in 2004 and president in 2005. He has been affiliated with the company since 1986 when he joined the Harleysville Group, Inc., board of directors.
