The Insurance Agents & Brokers' FAME (The Foundation for Agency Management Excellence) said it will distribute $125,000 in auction proceeds to three relief agencies aiding Gulf Coast hurricane victims in Louisiana and Mississippi.
The auction was held in October at the Insurance Leadership Forum at The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va.
FAME said it will donate to the following organizations involved in Hurricane Katrina relief:
o $50,000 to the Mississippi Hurricane Recovery Fund set up by Gov. Haley Barbour as the state's central clearinghouse for donations.
o $50,000 to the Baton Rouge Area Foundation, a community foundation established in 1964 as a tool for community development.
o $25,000 to the Manna House, a soup kitchen in Alexandria, La., that serves a free meal daily, seven days a week, to anyone in need.
