Arch Capital Group Ltd announced Marc Grandisson has been named chairman and chief executive officer of Arch Worldwide Reinsurance Group, and Nicolas Papadopoulo was promoted to president and chief executive of Arch Reinsurance Ltd.
Mr. Grandisson will succeed Dwight Evans, one of the founders of the company's reinsurance operations, who is leaving the Bermuda-based company, Arch said yesterday.
Mr. Grandisson's appointment takes place immediately.
Mr. Papadopoulo was chief underwriting officer of Arch Reinsurance Ltd. (Bermuda), joining the company in 2001.
The company also announced that John Rathgeber, president and CEO of Arch Reinsurance Company (U.S.), will be leaving the company.
Dinos Iordanou, president and chief executive officer, said Mr. Grandisson's promotion from within the company "is another indication of the depth and strength of the management team we have built at Arch. Under the guidance of Marc and the other members of the senior team, the strategic direction of the company will not change."
