Q.Know Technologies Inc., a global provider of information management software, has announced the launch of Q.Know Version 2.0, which includes an "information-centric interface."
According to New York-based Q.Know, its "Information Desktop" provides users with a single interface to manage all electronic information, structured and unstructured, company-wide. "This includes all file types in existence, such as e-mail, PDFs, Word documents, presentations, forms, photos, spreadsheets, scanned files, music, etc., the company said.
It added that Information Desktop also brings users "complete visibility and 24/7 accessibility to all electronic information across the enterprise."
Q.Know said users are given a straightforward, simplistic view of all their business information on their desktop, which is now organized by topic (i.e., project, activity, client, transaction). While current user desktops require information to be segmented based on the application in which it resides, Q.Know said the new product allows users to automatically file and organize based on content and context.
