Commercial and industrial property insurer FM Global announced today that it has received regulatory approval in principle to establish a branch office in Singapore.
The Johnston, R.I.-based company said the news marks its first insurance license in Asia and demonstrates its long-term commitment to Singapore and the remaining Asia region.
FM Global said its growth has followed that of its multinational clients, which have rapidly expanded their global capabilities, leading the mutual insurer to provide its products and services in more than 100 countries.
FM Global has had a representative office in Singapore through local service partners for more than 20 years, the company said. The license will be granted to FM Insurance Company Limited, trading under the name FM Global.
