Charles R. "Charlie" Daniels III was named 2006 chairman of the Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers at the group's membership meeting during its 92nd annual Insurance Leadership Forum in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va.
Mr. Daniels is executive vice president of Rose and Kiernan, Inc., of East Greenbush, N.Y.
He succeeds J. Hyatt Brown, chief executive officer of Brown & Brown, Inc., of Daytona Beach, Fla., in the post.
The new CIAB leadership committee includes:
o Thomas J. Rodell, as vice chairman. He is managing principal of Aon Risk Services, San Francisco, Calif.
o George A. "Shad" Steadman, president and chief operating officer of The Rutherfoord Companies of Roanoke, Va., was named treasurer.
o Markham McKnight, executive vice president and director of BancorpSouth Insurance Services, Inc., Baton Rouge, La., was named secretary.
Also at the conference, Brian Duperreault, chairman of ACE Limited, was selected as the next chairman of the Council of Insurance Company Executives, an industry group that holds its conference simultaneously with the CIAB conference at the Greenbrier.
