A new marketing partnership has been created to provide risk managers with survey data on health care insurance pricing and loss trends, Advisen Ltd. announced.
New York-based Advisen said its new co-marketing relationship with the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM) would explore commercial insurance trends and market conditions in the health care industry.
The two organizations said they are interviewing health care risk management professionals to determine pricing and other trends, including loss trends, for key commercial insurance lines in the health care industry, as well as developing other research tools to offer insight into this vertical market.
Advisen currently offers a similar program across the broader commercial insurance market with the Risk and Insurance Management Society Inc. (RIMS)
"Advisen has provided analysis into the market conditions of all insurance markets for several years through other industry partnerships," said Thomas P. Ruggieri, chief executive officer of Advisen. "Working with ASHRM, we plan to drive deeper into a vertical category and provide similar market data to give health care professionals the tools to make better business decisions."
Advisen said it expects to publish results of the survey by first-quarter 2006.
ASHRM is a personal membership group of the American Hospital Association with more than 5,000 members representing insurance, health care, law and other related professions.
ASHRM promotes effective and innovative risk management strategies and professional leadership through education, recognition, advocacy, publications, networking, and interactions with leading health care organizations and government agencies. ASHRM initiatives focus on developing and implementing safe and effective patient care practices, the preservation of financial resources and the maintenance of safe working environments.
