Former chief ratings officer for the A.M. Best Company Jack Snyder has joined New York-based Guy Carpenter and Company Inc. as managing director and manager of business development for the Americas.
Between his time at A.M. Best and his new role at Guy Carpenter, Mr. Snyder served as the chief marketing officer for American Re. He has also worked as a securities analyst, following the insurance industry for Smith Barney, and an underwriter for General Reinsurance Corporation.
"Jack's knowledge of the insurance market, coupled with his rating agency and Wall Street background, will be of great value as we work to provide clients with... risk management solutions in an increasingly complex environment," said Michael Schnur, an executive vice president for Guy Carpenter and head of the unit Mr. Snyder is joining.
Mr. Snyder's move to Guy Carpenter comes one month after the company announced the appointment of David Spiller as its new president starting January 1 of next year. Guy Carpenter is a part of the Marsh & McLennan Companies.
