Cesar C. Zalamea, American International Group Inc. senior vice president and Global Investment Group-Asia president and CEO, has retired after more than 50 years with the company, AIG announced.
Mr. Zalamea joined the company's Philippines division as an investment analyst in 1954 and served as president of Philippine American Life Insurance Company (Philamlife) from 1969-1981.
Mr. Zalamea continued to advance in the company and was elected AIG vice president, investments in 1997 and AIG senior vice president, investments in 2002.
To replace the retiring Mr. Zalamea, AIG named John T. W. Chu as chairman of AIGGIG Asia and Ada K. H. Tse as AIGGIG Asia president and CEO. The two will remain stationed in their Hong Kong offices.
