Hancock Bank announced it has completed its acquisition of J. Everett Eaves Inc. (JEE), a New Orleans-based independent insurance agency.
Hancock Bank, a division of Gulfport, Miss.-based Hancock Holding Company, said the deal was an all cash transaction but gave no further details.
JEE, founded in 1918, provides personal and commercial lines insurance through its offices in New Orleans and other locations. The agency reported $3.9 million in revenue and has 29 employees. Hancock said the agency would maintain its existing agency team and operational structure at its current locations.
The agency will become a division of Hancock Insurance Agency, a subsidiary of Hancock Bank. Hancock Insurance Agency was founded in 1902.
Hancock Holding Company's other divisions include Hancock Bank Mississippi, Hancock Bank of Louisiana, Hancock Bank of Florida and Magna Insurance Company. The company has reported assets of $4.8 billion.
