The Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America announced that five insurance industry leaders will participate in the association's CEO panel discussion during the opening session of its New York convention.

The panel discussion will be part of the IIABA's annual conference Sept. 10-12 at New York's Hilton New York & Towers.

The five participating panelists are:

o Frederick H. Eppinger, CEO, Allmerica Financial Corp.

o Robert J. Joyce, chairman and CEO, Westfield Group.

o Charles M. Kavitzky, president and CEO, Fireman's Fund.

o Axel P. Lehmann, CEO, Zurich North America Commercial.

o William J. Mullaney, president, MetLife Auto & Home.

Their discussion, on Sept. 11, will be moderated by IIABA Chief Executive Officer Robert A. Rusbuldt. IIABA said the panel will take up major issues affecting the independent agency system and the insurance industry.

The conference will also feature former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani as a guest speaker.
